SCRIPT to SCREEN! (grades 6-8)

In this course, students will read from several contemporary plays and screenplays to discover the strategies and techniques used in dramatic writing. We will then apply those techniques/strategies to writing dramatically in the age of ZOOM! Students will use this newfound understanding of craft to create their own scripts with well-developed characters whose motives and actions are organic to the plot, relevant to their story’s intentions, and a thrill for actors and audiences alike to watch on ZOOM! The reading and writing will be done in class. Student’s work will be performed on ZOOM at the completion of this course.
